Here's the Story!

Wow.
This week has definitely changed my life! All of a sudden I have a thousand decisions to make! I LOVE IT!

My 23rd birthday was Wednesday. I was under the impression Scott was in California with his aunt and uncle for work. He called me once Tuesday, and left a quick message Wednesday. I figured he didn't have cell service where he was, so I didn't think anything was fishy about it.

My stake is preparing to do the play Savior of the World, and we had a rehearsal from 6-9pm that night. At the end of the rehearsal the entire cast of over 100 people sang happy birthday to me! It was awesome. My cute singles ward had also got me a cake :) I have such great friends!

As people started to leave, a few friends came in and told me I had to go to their car with them. I was talking to the directors at the moment, and told them I couldn't right then. After about 10 minutes, my neighbor came up and said, "Heather. There is a LIMO outside for you."

:)

My stomach dropped and I started shaking and feeling excited and nervous! I knew it must be Scott. THIS WAS IT! I ran outside and dozens of the cast were lining the sidewalks and they cheered when I came out!

I saw a red carpet leading up to a beautiful limo...and there was Scott down on both knees. He looked incredible! I started crying the moment I saw him! I jumped up and down and ran across the lawn to him. He told me that you never know when life is going to change (he quoted that from a poem I wrote him 4 years ago). He said I had changed his life, and that it was time to change ours.

As he put the gorgeous ring on my finger FIREWORKS went off across the street. These weren't just sparklers...I'm talking beautiful-illegal-80 foot high fireworks. It was perfect.

My family was there and so was his brother's. After lots of hugs, we drove to the Salt Lake Temple in the limo.

We are so happy! We have been working on making a decision about our future since Christmas, and it truly feels like this is exactly what we should be doing at this point in our lives. THANK YOU to everyone for supporting us all these years. Your love means THE WORLD to us.

August 9 huh is that your wedding day? Do you know what temple your getting married in? Brad and I don't know when our next trip up to Utah will be but we'll let you know! And yeah I hate being alone at night. I don't sleep as well and I have to sleep on his side of the bed :) Just wait you'll know what I'm talking about once you get married.

Congratulations! My husband was clicking along the links the other day (which is funny, he never really does that) and when he read this post, he asked, "Who's Heather?" I explained and he said, "Did you READ this? Fireworks? Well done." He was uber-impressed.
