Lovely Weekend

This is the cutest couple, and their names just happen to be Matt and Mary. I can't get over it- it's too perfect. Their wedding was in sunny St. George on Valentines Day, it was the perfect way to celebrate the day of l-o-v-e. Matt has a twin brother and I cried like a baby at the wedding when they hugged after the ceremony. They are very close (like most twins are) so it was emotional for the first one to get married.

It was a great weekend...although the little niece we're all waiting for didn't show up. Darn! Luckily Marilyn is being induced at 6pm tonight so it won't be long now! If you can't tell, I'm SO EXCITED! Good luck Marilyn & Jeremy!

Six is a big deal, right?

Just thought I’d mention yesterday we hit the half way mark in our first married year. I’m not sure if people celebrate 6-month anniversaries, but it only comes once, so why not? Scott brought me home a beautiful house plant and we went out to dinner at El Matador.

This will be a really fun weekend; first we are taking a road trip to St. George for my cousin Matt’s wedding. Second, we are waiting for the FIRST Cutler baby to come! Marilyn is due this weekend and we are all beyond excited. My parents picked out their grandparent names: mom is grams, and dad is opa (grandpa in dutch). Isn’t that great? Come soon baby!!! We’re all waiting!

Favorite Skating Spot

Ever been ice skating at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake? It' s a great little outdoor rink that we try to go to every winter. It is small, in the middle of high rise buildings, surrounded by lit up trees; truly a great downtown spot. Like many things it reminds me of a movie- Serendipity. If you've seen the show you know what I mean. Well we finally made it there on Friday- it was a fun night out.

Congratulations to Scott's sister Kari on her new baby Linley!!! She is one cute little girl and we can't wait to see her in person :)

a few happenings

Last weekend we babysat two of our nieces for a couple days, a 3 year old and a 14 month old. They were VERY well behaved, but it was still pretty exhausting. We tried taking them to church with us and I ended up jumping ship about an hour in. After this experience I am so impressed at how clean their house is, and how cute my sister in law Bri always looks. The house was a disaster after us being there one evening, and I could never find time to even comb my hair.
The picture is in honor of Livi, who is the biggest princess fan I've ever met. Aurora is my favorite.

Luke and I got to perform together this week at a Sons of the Utah Pioneers banquet. It is always fun to play with my brother- he becomes an instant favorite everywhere he goes. We mostly did fiddling mixed with some songs from the early 1900's. It was an older crowd :) Scott turned pages for us and did a terrific job. We got a nice dinner and met some great people!

Tonight we're taking Luke (wow we've seen each other a lot this week) to the Draper Temple open house. I'm sure it will be beautiful.

And finally, I love our credit union since you can personalize your debit card. Don't worry these aren't the real thing. No shopping sprees on us!

Road Trip

We had a lot of fun taking a short road trip to Elko, NV last weekend. We visited our friends Sean & Gracie Smith for a few days. They are having a baby boy in March; we're so excited for them! They found out they were pregnant after they'd been married 5 months- that's how long we've been married now. That's strange to think!

Scott lived with Sean for over a year and misses his cooking. He requested that Sean cook us carne asada- it was so good. We shot targets on Saturday morning; a few handguns and a shotgun. My first shot was a BULLSEYE...and then I didn't hit any target the rest of the time :) Scott shot a 9mm casing OFF of a bottle. Very impressive. That night we went to a movie. I wanted to see Bride Wars but was out voted, so we saw Tom Cruise instead of Kate Hudson. Valkyrie was pretty good- a one timer though. Has anyone seen bride wars? It got terrible reviews- I'm not sure if I even want to see it now.

I have LOVED the sunny weather! Scott is driving a snow plow for his work this winter so it has been such a relief to have a break from the snow. No calls saying "Go to work" at 2 am this week!
